Terminal Block CE Certified: CE vs CCC vs IEC for Export Markets

July 10, 2026

The phrase “terminal block CE certified” usually means the product has been checked against the European Union rules that apply to it. But CE, CCC, and IEC do not mean the same thing. CE relates to the European market. CCC covers certain products sold in China. IEC provides technical standards used in many countries.

Before you buy, check the exact product, target market, and document. A mark for one model should not be used to approve a different model.

Why Certification Matters for Cross-Border Procurement

Certification helps buyers see if a product fits the rules of the country where it will be sold or installed.

It can also help prevent delays at customs, during product approval, or before a panel is put into use. Missing or incorrect documents may force the buyer to test the product again.

Start by asking where the product will go. A terminal block for Europe may need different documents from one used in China. Another country may ask for an IEC test report, CB certificate, or local approval.

Do not accept a logo alone. Ask for the certificate number, covered models, test standard, issuing body, and valid date. The company name on the document should also match the supplier or maker.

CE Marking — What It Covers

CE marking shows that the maker declares the product meets the European Union rules that apply to it.

It is not a general quality award. It also does not mean that one European office tested every product.

The maker must identify the right rules, prepare technical files, and sign a Declaration of Conformity. Some products may need an approved outside body. Other products may use the maker’s own conformity check.

When a supplier says “terminal block CE certified,” ask to see the Declaration of Conformity. Then check that the model, voltage, product name, and standards match the item you plan to order.

CCC — China Compulsory Certification

CCC is China’s compulsory product approval system. It applies to products listed within its official certification catalogue.

Not every electrical product needs CCC. The product type, design, and final use help decide whether the requirement applies.

This is why buyers should not ask only, “Do you have CCC?” A better question is, “Is this exact model covered by your CCC certificate?”

A certificate for one product family may not cover another family. Check the model list, factory name, and product details before using the document for project approval.

IEC 60947-7-1 Standard Explained

IEC 60947-7-1 is a technical standard for industrial terminal blocks used with copper conductors. It covers terminal blocks with screw or screwless clamping systems.

The current 2025 edition covers products used in circuits up to 1,000 V AC or 1,500 V DC. It includes electrical and mechanical checks for conductor connections, heating, voltage drop, strength, and short-time current.

IEC is a standard, not a market approval mark.

A test report based on IEC 60947-7-1 can support a product file. However, it does not replace CE marking or CCC when those requirements apply.

What HYJXH Products Are Certified For

What HYJXH Products Are Certified For

HYJXH states that its terminal blocks, junction boxes, and distribution blocks carry approvals such as CE, CQC, and CB. Its website also displays a CCC certificate.

The company lists ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 for its factory systems. These ISO certificates cover areas such as quality, environmental, and workplace management. They do not prove that every product model has the same product approval.

When checking a UK terminal block or PT terminal block, ask HYJXH for the document linked to that exact series.

This is safer than using a general company certificate for every item in the order.

What HYJXH Does Not Currently Certify

HYJXH’s public website does not currently provide a full table showing every model and every certification it holds.

It also does not prove that all products across every category have CE, CCC, CQC, or CB approval. This does not always mean the documents are unavailable. It means the buyer should ask for proof before making a claim.

This point matters for products outside the main terminal block range.

An insulation piercing connector may need different tests from a DIN rail terminal block. A buyer searching for tap connector electrical products should not use a terminal block certificate to approve them.

The same rule applies to overhead line accessories and a street light connector. Request the certificate and test file for the exact model. Treat the approval as unconfirmed when the model is not listed.

FAQ

Is CE the Same as an IEC Certificate?

No. CE is a marking used for products covered by European Union rules. IEC publishes technical standards.

A product may use IEC testing as part of its CE compliance file, but the two terms do not mean the same thing.

Does Every Terminal Block Need CCC?

No. CCC applies when the product is included in China’s compulsory certification system.

Check the product category and exact model before asking a supplier for CCC documents.

Can One Certificate Cover a Full Product Series?

Yes, in some cases. The certificate must clearly list the full series or each covered model.

Do not assume that products with a similar shape or name are included.

What Documents Should a Buyer Request?

Ask for the product certificate, covered model list, test report, and issuing-body details. For CE marking, also request the Declaration of Conformity.

Make sure the maker, model, voltage, and standard match your order.

Match the Certification to the Product and Market

A product approved for one market may still need different proof in another country. Start with the final market, then check the exact model, standard, and certificate scope.

CE, CCC, and IEC each answer a different compliance question. Understanding those roles helps buyers avoid incorrect documents, reduce approval delays, and choose terminal blocks that fit the project’s real market requirements.
