FJ6/HYC10 Series Branch Type Insulation Piercing Connector(10kV)
Typical applications include:
- 10 kV overhead distribution feeders.
- Medium-voltage branching and network expansion.
- Pole-mounted transformer connections.
- Rural and urban MV distribution systems.
- Industrial outdoor insulated conductor feeders.
Product Features
- No-strip installation using torque nuts for controlled piercing pressure.
- Low contact resistance and low temperature rise, ensuring stable electrical performance under MV operating conditions.
- Fully sealed, high-insulation design filled with insulating grease to improve dielectric strength and outdoor reliability.
- Wide applicability for steel-aluminum, copper, and aluminum conductors, including different- and equal-diameter branching or jointing.
Detailed introduction
Application
The FJ6/HYC10 series branch type insulation piercing connectors are used for the connection and branching of overhead insulated conductors in medium-voltage distribution networks.
They are suitable for 10 kV insulated lines, providing reliable electrical performance for branching, tapping, and line extensions in MV overhead systems.

Installation and Operation
- Install and secure the medium-voltage insulated conductor using standard methods.
- Remove the required length of outer sheath at the branching position without damaging the insulation layer.
- Prepare the branch conductor and strip the insulation at both ends as required for MV installations.
- Position the connector on the exposed section and hand-tighten the torque nut(s).
- Tighten the torque nut(s) with a socket wrench until the preset torque nuts break off, indicating correct installation torque has been achieved.
